I created Musiclectic because I'm finding that there's more interesting music I want to post than I have room for on my other blog, Moomin Light.* It would be easy to turn Moomin Light into a music blog, but that would crowd out the writing about books, movies, gardening, hiking, and random opinions that also inhabit my other blog.
For those who haven't read Moomin Light, I'm a homeschooling mother of three who teaches aerobics, plays flute, takes a Broadway dance class, and will soon start voice lessons.**
I've almost always got music going in my head (who needs an I-Pod?). I love all sorts of music - folk, jazz, Broadway, Celtic, rock, classical, pop, international, swing, funk, and probably more that I'm forgetting - hence the name of my blog. One of the hardest things I find about blogging is deciding on a blog title. Dear husband came up with a long list of possibilities, and "Musiclectic" is the one that fit, and that I liked the best. "Spontuneous" was a close second.
If you've read Moomin Light, you won't be surprised that I'm starting with a Fosse song - the opening song which works well as an introduction. "Magic to Do" sets the stage for to Bob Fosse's Broadway musical, Pippin. Bob Fosse won Tony Awards for both the directing and the choreography, and Ben Vereen won a Tony for Best Actor.

* Reason behind the name, here.
** ...and who also gardens, hikes, etc. but that doesn't have anything to do with music. I am going to try to stay on topic more here than on Moomin Light (grin).
This'll be fun.
Tell me more about the voice lessons. When you get a chance. :-)
