Some more favorite photos from our Asheville trip
June 20, 2009
Catalpa trees in bloom in Old Salem, NC (older son's photos)
There were lots of ducks and geese and babies at Lake Tomahawk in Black Mountain, NC. (we both took pictures of them so I don't remember whose these are)
Sunset over Lake Tomahawk with the Seven Sisters mountains(mine)(the photo, not the mountains)(sight)
The drive back to the house we rented, which was on the middle ridge. It was a beautiful spot! (ML)
Basilica of St. Lawrence in Asheville, NC. If you're ever there, you have to go inside. It's beautiful, peaceful, and inspiring. I didn't want to disturb the peacefulness by taking photos so click here and here for views of the inside. (ML)
The view from the bedroom window in the morning. It's like camping, but more comfortable (grin)(I like camping too). (ML)
We often saw turkeys in the fields at the entrance to the neighborhood. The neighborhood was about ten minutes from Black Mountain. However, once in the neighborhood, it took about ten minutes to get to the house along very steep winding roads. The first afternoon, when the van was weighed down with all of our stuff (and the car top carrier), it actually slipped a bit on the extremely steep, gravel driveway. (ML)
You take the most beautiful photos! What camera do you use?

Those are some incredible pictures. I want a rock wall like that.

Lisa: Thank you! We have an Olympus SP-350 - not a fancy camera, but more expensive than any we'd had before. I'm saving my money up for one where you actually focus yourself.
Tammie: Thank you! We know that rock wall well because the building there is the Winkler bakery (grin). I love this photo of the wall that older son took (which I forgot to mention on the post because it was late at night).
