Friday Fun Song: Regency "Holding Out for a Hero"

I almost didn't do a Friday Fun Song this week.  ABBA has been singing in my head since we saw Mamma Mia!  Pink knocked them out, briefly, one day, but I've already posted a few Pink songs.

I have a folder on the computer called "Blog possible" (which is getting rather large now) where I put links to interesting looking articles/music/pictures.  Daughter found this video on YouTube a few months ago.  I don't usually care for fan videos, but this one is well done.

The song is "Holding Out for a Hero" from the Shrek 2 soundtrack.  The movies used are:  Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice (2005), Mansfield Park (1999), Northanger Abbey (2007), Mansfield Park (2007), Persuasion (2007), The Phantom of the Opera, An American Haunting, Under the Greenwood Tree, Daniel Deronda, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, Jane Eyre (2006), North and South.  I haven't seen half of these so I have some new movies to look up.

The (author? videographer?) did not have the 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice so there's no Colin Firth.  If this makes you feel deprived, click here for an interview with Colin Firth on singing in Mamma Mia!

To balance things off, here's a video about Regency women to the song, Maneater by Nelly Furtado (grin)(with Colin Firth, for those who keep track of such things).
