Ash Wednesday

Ashwednesday_2 It's hard to focus on this (to the right):

when these just opened up today.

P2210059 It was beautiful, and sunny, and in the 60's today.  I felt all penitential during the service but full of energy the rest of the day (which is good since I did aerobics and Theater dance also).  I came up with a new aerobic cool down routine combining moves from both the Theater dance class and from another aerobics instructor's class - she's been taking Funk dance and adds those moves to her cool down.   I was inspired by listening to this song (without the slugs).

For Lent, I'm giving up computer Solitaire - which is my "play-when-I'm-too-tired-to-do-anything-else" P2210057_1 habit.  I decided, as part of my Lenten devotions, to alternate reading Seasons for the Spirit:  Readings for the Days of Lent and Blue Like Jazz:  Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality (which I started last October, but had to go back to the library before I was finished).  I also came across a Lenten reading recommendation for Show Me the Way:  Readings for Each Day of Lent, by Henry Nouwen, whom I have become familiar with from Windows Toward the World.  Maybe next year.

So many good books, so little time...
