Alien Glassware (Iittala)

One episode of Star Trek: Enterprise started out with an Andorian pouring liquid into an "unusual" alien glass on the Andorian ship.  They probably picked the glass to give a strange alien atmosphere, but I had to laugh because I was drinking water out of the same Iittala glass that was on the screen! 

My mother has Iittala candle holders and Iittala glassware, and I've always loved them.  When I was in high school, I used to stop at a store (in a now-bulldozed mall) and look at the Iittala candleholders there.  Someday...

My sister now lives near a Scandinavian store (Scandinavian Touch) so we stop by there every time we visit her.  My kids aren't always thrilled because I bring back more glasses to try and fit in the cupboard (and they all have to be hand washed).  A small self-indulgence.
