Cool, fall weather is some of my favorite weather of the whole year so I'll be photoblogging for the next few weeks. Older son and I went to Duke Gardens this week. There's still lots blooming; the long growing season is part of why I love living in NC!
The White Garden hasn't slowed down at all for the fall. Here are spider flowers with zinnias and the amphitheater.
Until it blooms, I always forget that okra is related to hibiscus.

At this point, the battery in the camera went dead (I'd left the spare in the van). This made it easier for me to admit, fifteen minutes later, that, because of the cool summer that we've had, I wasn't used to being outside in the sun when it was 91 degrees in the shade and I needed to go home.
