We've had a very warm winter this year. Usually, in mid-February, we've only got the very earliest daffodils and crocuses, and short and sparse pansies. This year, we've already had vasefuls of daffodils to bring in the house, and the pansies are lush.
This scilla is a very small flower, and it surprises me every year.
There aren't many daffodils in the garden right now. We had a cold snap last weekend so we cut most of the daffodils and brought them in the house.
The only crocus currently blooming. We had more, but somebody dug them up - probably squirrels.
The pansies on the back deck are very happy!

Very pretty Creeping Phlox!
Beautiful Pansies, too!
I especially like the grouping on your back deck.
Have a great day!

Beautiful blooms...it's been an odd winter, for sure!

Very nice!
Is it squirrels who raid the bulbs? Some creature has pulled up several irises and even a butterfly bush seedling, licked the roots clean, and left the plant lying on the ground. I assumed the mystery creature was eating the bone meal I use to improve the soil. But maybe it was due to squirrels.

Lea's Menagerie: Thank you!
Scott: Thank you!
Summer: Thank you! I thought it was the squirrels, but dear husband said that it looked like deer were pawing at the bulbs. I sprayed the anti-deer stuff on the bulbs last weekend.

I finally looked up our little yellow daffodils again. They're campernelle jonquils - an old variety believed to be a naturally occuring hybrid between a wild jonquil and a wild daffodil.
