As I've learned in the last six years of blogging, one of the most fun things about it is making new friends through blogging.
Another one of the most fun things is to learn more about longtime friends through their blogs. Things come up while blogging that don't necessarily come up in a face to face conversation or even in an e-mail conversation.
This is the last day of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month). I'm a bit blogged out, particularly since I've had other large projects going on this month (one of which I hope I'll blog about in the next few days). It's more fun to be doing NaBloPoMo "with," in an electronic sense, other bloggers, and, this year, a few of my longtime friends have been posting daily too. Some evenings, when I felt too tired to try to post, I looked at their posts for the day and got inspired to write one of my own.
I've been meaning to add all these blogs to my Longtime Friends sidebar for... well, a long time. Some have been doing NaBloPoMo, others post less frequently. They're all active, intelligent women with interesting things to say. Some blogs are general; some are topical; all are good.
