The last time I saw a production of Our Town was in the mid-80's at the Playmakers in Chapel Hill. I had never read the play before, but it immediately became one of my favorites. I love the way it encourages us to pay attention to all the details of our lives - to really look.
I try not to give stories away for those who haven't read or seen them. I'll just say that now, having three children, much of this play struck me much more strongly than it did twenty years ago (particularly Mrs. Webb's situation in the third act).
