I had all sorts of inside plans today. I was going to go do aerobics and then clean and straighten. However, when I woke up, it was beautiful, warm and sunny, which was wonderful after yesterday's grey and drizzly weather. Dear husband and I ate breakfast outside, and then daughter, younger son and I went to Duke Gardens. Older son had his wisdom teeth out on Thursday, and he's doing fine, but not moving around much yet. After Duke Gardens, we went to the Mad Hatter Cafe for a snack and to Whole Foods for spices and more ice cream for older son. Dear husband and I took a long walk this afternoon. The house is unstraightened, but I'm filled up with sun (which is good since tomorrow will be cloudy and rainy).
Duke Gardens today:
When we got there this morning, the paths were still wet from yesterday's rain. The ground oozed water in low-lying areas.
Dear husband thinks these are probably almond trees, which bloom here in January.
I liked the sun (especially on the water) and shadows here.
These fall-blooming azaleas are still going.
These circular benches on the bridge are relatively recent (okay, I've been going to Duke Gardens since we moved to NC (President Carter was in office) so "relatively" recent is really relative!).
One of our favorite spots.
